The curtain fabric is very thin, I doubt it will block the sun well, and the buttons to attach it to the glass don't stick well.

Honestly it's ok, does it's job enough to keep the sun light out.
1. The string used is a shoe lace.
2. The suction holds onto the window well, but it doesn't hold the string strong enough without the curtain sagging. I have had to tie a know in the string to stop it slipping through.
It looks wrinkled, I will wash it to see if it looks better!
